Insights usage

Insights usage helps account admins understand how Insights is being used and whether the account is approaching any assistant-related limits.

What is tracked

Insights usage includes estimated cost, token usage (input and output), and request counts, totalled per Insights chat across the whole conversation. Every model request the assistant made on your behalf is counted.

Usage exists so teams can understand assistant activity and keep it within the expected plan or budget.

For the detailed token model, see Token usage and context window in this section.

Where to find it

Open Account settings → AI usage. The page shows totals for the selected period — cost, tokens, and requests — and a per-chat list with the model, time, and cost of each conversation. Use the period presets or the date picker to narrow the range.

How to manage usage

To keep Insights usage predictable:

  • Ask focused questions instead of broad multi-part prompts.
  • Use dashboard filters before asking the assistant to investigate a narrow cohort.
  • Choose a specific app instead of All apps when the question is not account-wide.
  • Open linked dashboard views for repeated checks instead of asking the same question again.
  • Start a new chat when a previous thread has accumulated unrelated context.
  • Review usage periodically if several teammates use Insights.

Model and app scope impact

Different models can have different context windows, pricing, and reasoning behavior. The selected model can affect both answer style and usage.

The selected app scope also matters. All apps questions may require broader data inspection, while a single-app scope can keep the assistant focused on one property.

Privacy and permissions

Insights follows the same property access boundaries as the person asking the question. A teammate cannot use Insights to read a property they cannot open in the dashboard.

Insights is read-only: it explores analytics data and does not perform admin actions.
