Model and app context

Insights answers are shaped by two controls near the composer: the selected model provider and the selected app context.

App context

The app selector controls which properties the assistant should inspect.

Choose All apps when your question is account-wide:

  • "Which app grew fastest this month?"
  • "Summarize all active properties."
  • "Which apps had anomalies this week?"

Choose a specific app when your question is about one property:

  • "What happened today?"
  • "Why did signups drop?"
  • "Which campaigns drove checkout events?"

When a specific app is selected, ambiguous questions are treated as app-scoped. The assistant stays within that app unless you ask for a cross-app comparison.

Smart defaults

Nexly chooses a starting context based on where you are:

  • From a property page, the current property can be preselected.
  • From a global route, the selector can default to All apps.
  • If there is no stronger page context, Nexly can remember your last selected scope for the browser session.

The selected scope is always visible in the composer, so you can check what the assistant will look at before asking.

Switching app context

You can change the selected app before asking the next question. If you mention another property by name, the assistant may switch context for that answer and state the assumption.

Use a new chat when switching topics substantially. This keeps the previous conversation and token context clean.

Model provider

The model selector controls which AI provider or model family answers the next turn, depending on the models enabled for your account.

The default provider is usually the best starting point. Switch models when you need a different balance of speed, reasoning depth, cost, or provider behavior.

Provider memory

Nexly remembers the provider you choose for new chats in the current browser. Existing chats also store their provider, so reopening a chat restores the model choice used in that investigation.

If a remembered provider is no longer available, Nexly falls back to the account default.
